Parenting
Being a parent can be one of life's most rewarding yet challenging experiences. We can connect you with the resources you need. The thought of being a parent can be overwhelming, especially if the news of your pregnancy is unexpected. Caring for a new life is a big responsibility.
Many people would like to be parents at some point in their lives. Although the timing and your current situation may not be what you pictured, your pregnancy still offers you the opportunity to experience the joy of becoming a parent. We can help you understand and realistically evaluate your options and also explore help and services available to you.
Taking good care of your baby means taking care of yourself. Starting before your baby’s birth, your physical health and emotional well-being are important, as is a healthy lifestyle. We provide instruction on prenatal care and childbirth. We can help you with parenting support programs. We can also help you access a wide range of community resources available to you.
Mea Centre offers a program specially designed for men as well. The 24/7 Dad's group is designed to help you be the best dad you can be. In a group setting you will explore what it means to be a Dad in today's culture. It's for good Dad's who want to be even better. We also offer one on one peer support to men whose partner is pregnant or has recently had a baby.
